Worldwide Agri Exchange South Africa (WAXSA) specializes in offering South Africans training as well as work
options in the agricultural field abroad.
The objective of the Worldwide Agri Exchange South Africa (WAXSA) training programme is primarily to offer young
people the opportunity to gain more experience in a specific agricultural
category and also to become acquainted with another culture and way of life.
This in turn leads to personal growth and at the same time, offers the
opportunity to build useful contacts abroad. The length of this programme varies
from 3 to 12 months and can in certain circumstances by extended up to 18
months. We offer placements with most agricultural operations, including amongst
other, corps, harvesting, beef, sheep, poultry, horses, fruit, vegetables,
landscaping, forestry, cut flowers, oenology, dairy and pigs. Transferral
between different farming operations is possible.
The work program, on the other hand, is designed for those who are experienced
in especially crop farming and harvesting, whose motivation is primarily to work
aboard in order to earn a reasonably good income. The duration of this program
is normally 7 - 10 months, depending on when the applicant applies and
availability of placements at the time. A placement on the programme is arranged
for a certain period with a specific employer.
Host farmers and employers are screened by our partner organisations abroad in
order to ensure that they are well-informed about the objectives of our program
and to minimize chances of trainees and workers being exploited.
